The paper took Sharpies (which are alcohol-based) pretty well over a small area. I usually only use Sharpies for small accent areas.

There are color palettes you can purchase. I am satisfied with the free ones. You can enlarge the picture also to get the small spaces. I do recommend this especially if you have anxiety disorders or depression.
